Why have a couples photoshoot?

1 - Because it's honestly great fun.

A couples photo session is an incredible way to spend time together and have space to create a treasured memories. It will give you photographs beyond just fuzzy selfies together. All too often only one member of a couple is in the photograph because the other has to take it, let's remedy that!

2 - Create memories to keep hold of.

The heart of what I do is documenting your story to give you beautiful and real memories. Photographs are important, they remind you of good times, your old self, and of your growth. And there’s nothing that can take you straight back to a moment in time, like a photograph can. When you're old, wrinkly and grey you'll be thankful you had these photographs taken of your younger years together.

3 - Relax and be exactly who you are.

For couples photoshoots I try to get to know the real you and capture you as you really are. Stepping away from posing, I'll gently prompt you, or give you a story to play around with. I capture documentary style photographs, they unfold into a story in a linear way and show real moments. Yes there will be bloopers and yes, they'll likely become your favourite. I like to encourage people to do what they would normally so if that's cooking dinner, walking the dog, wandering Edinburgh, going for a pint, or anything else, let me unobtrusively capture that.

Once we agree a date and you pop through your deposit, we have a video call to discuss your shoot in more detail. Cinematic shoots are a process of co-creation between you and I in order for us to plan out every little intricacy so as to best capture your true self and tell your story.
